Boston Red Sox -- P Tim Vanegmond and IF Billy Hall agreed to terms on one-year contracts.

Houston Astros -- Signed OF Carmelo Martinez to a minor-league contract.

New York Mets -- Agreed to terms with SS Luis Rivera on a one-year contract. Signed P Bob Kipper.

Basketball

NBA -- Announced that San Antonio will be the site of the 1996 All-Star Game. Announced that the Cleveland-Los Angeles Clippers game scheduled for tomorrow night will be played at the Great Western Forum due to damage at the L.A. Sports Arena, and that the Sacramento-Los Angeles Lakers game postponed Monday will be played Feb. 10.

Chicago Bulls -- Activated C Bill Cartwright from the injured list. Placed C-F Stacey King on the injured list.

Cleveland Cavaliers -- Placed F Tyrone Hill on the injured list. Signed C Jay Guidinger to a 10-day contract.

Dartmouth -- Announced the resignation of Bobby Clark, men's soccer coach, to become the New Zealand national team coach.

Memphis State -- Announced G Sidney Coles, F Jerrell Horne and C Michael Simmons were suspended for last night's game against Murray State for disciplinary reasons.

NHL -- Named LW Brendan Shanahan of the St. Louis Blues and Artus Irbe of the San Jose Sharks to the Western Conference roster for Saturday's All-Star Game.

Buffalo Sabres -- Sent G Grant Fuhr to AHL Rochester on a conditioning assignment.
