POLICE

* Westminster: A Westminster man was arrested Tuesday and charged with two counts of assault and one count of carrying a deadly weapon after he allegedly pointed a handgun at his mother and her boyfriend during an argument.

City police identified the suspect as Shane Wisniewski, 20, of West Main Street. He was released by a District Court commissioner on personal recognizance. The gun was later determined to be a plastic pistol.

A resident of East Main Street told city police that someone stole a wallet from her jacket while she was walking in the area of Bond and Green streets on Tuesday. She said the wallet contained $155.

FIRE

* Westminster: Engines from the Westminster and Reese companies were dispatched to investigate the report of a fire alarm in a building on Timber Ridge Drive at 8:28 a.m. Tuesday. Units were out for 61 minutes.
