RAPE TRY/ARREST: Northern District -- Police arrested a man who attempted to rape a laboratory technician at Sinai Hospital in the 2400 block of W. Belvedere Ave. Sunday afternoon. The 30-year-old victim was working about 3 p.m. when a man entered the lab, struck her in the face and attempted to disrobe her. The woman cried out, alerting staff members and a security officer, ,, who held the man for city police. A 24-year-old man was arrested at the scene and was being held at the station pending charges. The victim sustained injuries to her face and was treated at the hospital.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- A resident of the 1700 block of Meridene Drive was at a 24-hour teller machine in the 5600 block of The Alameda Sunday night when two men, one with a handgun, robbed him of $65.

STOLEN CAR: Northern District -- A 1987 Oldsmobile with Maryland tags YDV206 was stolen Sunday from the 1000 block of Woodson Road.

THEFT/ARREST: Central District -- Police arrested a man Sunday night as he attempted to steal money from parking space boxes at the All Right parking lot in the 100 block of E. Centre St.

ROBBERY: Western District -- A resident of the 400 block of Swann Ave. was in the 1600 block of W. North Ave. when two men, one with a handgun, robbed her of about $60.

ASSAULT: Western District -- Police were seeking a woman who struck a female resident of the 5100 block of Oaklawn Road in the head several times with a large straightening comb during an incident in a house in the 1500 block of N. Mount St. Saturday. The victim was treated at the Liberty Medical Center for multiple lacerations and released.

ROBBERY: Western District -- A man who implied he had a handgun robbed a resident of the 1100 block of N. Carrollton Ave. of $70 in the 700 block of N. Carey St. Sunday.

THEFT: Northwestern District -- Someone stole the battery from a 1989 Dodge van owned by the Wayland Baptist Church in the 3200 block of Garrison Blvd. while the vehicle was parked near the church over the weekend.

THEFT: Northwestern District -- A resident of the 6800 block of Gist Ave. was asleep in a room at the Town House Motor Hotel in the 5800 block of Reisterstown Road early Sunday when someone stole $125 from his pants pockets.

THEFTS: Northwestern District -- In separate incidents, police arrested two people Sunday who attempted to leave the Super Pride market in the 3700 block of W. Belvedere Ave. without paying for meat products worth over $30.

Baltimore County

ATTEMPTED MURDER/ARREST: Parkville District -- Police arrested a 36-year-old man Sunday and charged him with attempting to kill another man during an argument at the home of the suspect's estranged wife in the 9300 block of Pan Ridge near Gramercy Circle Road in Cub Hill. When the suspect, Wayne Thompson, of the 300 block of Mount Holly St., Southwest Baltimore, arrived at the house about 3 p.m., he and the victim, Wendell Green, 40, of the 800 block of Arnold Court in East Baltimore, got into an argument. During the argument, Mr. Thompson is said to have stabbed Mr. Green in the chest with a knife. Police were called and arrested Mr. Thompson and charged him with attempted murder and related offenses. Mr. Green was taken to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center and was listed in serious condition.

STOLEN CAR/ARSON: North Point District -- Police were seeking two men who stole a 1978 Ford Granada from the 2600 block of Sparrows Point Road Sunday. The car was found burning near the home of one of the suspects.

THEFT/ARREST: White Marsh District -- Police arrested a man who attempted to leave BJ's wholesale store in the 4200 block of Wholesale Club Drive Sunday with two boxes filled with telephones, headache medicine and 28 blank video tapes, all valued at more than $700, instead of products normally placed in the boxes. The man was detained when a cashier became suspicious about how heavy the boxes were. Charged with theft and being held in lieu of $3,500 bond at the police station is Jeffrey Taylor, 33, of the 7100 block of Gough St.
