January 17, 1994

The South Carroll Coalition, a community activist group, will meet with members of the steering committee for the Commission on Women at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Eldersburg Library.

The Carroll County commissioners have approved the introduction of legislation to form the women's commission. The proposal will also be on the agenda of a public hearing on pending legislation at 9 a.m. Saturday in the County Office Building.

"We want to introduce Rachelle Hurwitz and other committee members to our coalition," said Kathleen Horneman, coalition president.

Ms. Hurwitz has served as chairwoman of the steering committee.

The coalition often schedules informational meetings to keep members apprised of county issues, Ms. Horneman said.

The library is at 6400 W. Hemlock Drive. Information: 549-1730.
