Orlando Magic -- Traded F Anthony Cook and a conditional first-round pick in the 1994 draft to the Milwaukee Bucks for F Anthony Avent.


Alabama -- Extended the contract of football coach Gene Stallings through 1998. Named UCLA assistant Homer Smith offensive coordinator. Moved assistant head coach and quarterbacks coach Mal Moore to an administrative job; receivers coach Woody McCorvey to assistant head coach; secondary coach Bill Oliver to defensive coordinator; and recruiting coordinator Randy Ross to assistant coach.

Rhode Island -- Announced the dismissal of Kyle Ivey-Jones and John Cowie from the basketball team.
