1. Dunteachin Estates, a half-mile off Route 103 on Kerger Road in Ellicott City, is continuing its grand opening from noon to 4 p.m. today.

Today's activities include art and music by students from Rockburn Elementary, Ellicott Mills Middle and Howard High schools.

Sitting on about 50 acres, which include a pond, Dunteachin will have 119 homes on one-third to half-acre lots when completed in three years.

Douglas Homes, Mount Bay Homes and Ryland will build homes starting from the low $200,000s.

Ryland is offering nine Colonial, traditional and Victorian homes and has two models open for viewing.

Ryland's smallest home at Dunteachin is the Addison, which sells for $208,500. The 1,700-square-foot, two-story house has three bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, living and dining rooms, a 14-by-14-foot family room and laundry room on the first level, a one-car garage and an unfinished basement.

The McLean, a 2,770-square-foot Victorian, is Ryland's largest offering at Dunteachin.

For $278,000, you get a wraparound front porch, library, living and dining rooms, laundry and family rooms on the first floor, kitchen with center cooking island and wall ovens, four bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, two-car garage and unfinished basement.

Douglas Homes has one model open at Dunteachin but can build six different houses.

The Chandler model is a 3,100-square-foot, two-story transitional home with a 20-by-14 kitchen-breakfast room area with a walk-in pantry.

The first floor also contains a 19-by-14-foot two-story family room, 13-by-15-foot living and dining rooms, powder room, raised two-story foyer and first-floor laundry room.

Upstairs there is a 17-by-15-foot master bedroom with walk-in closet, garden tub and separate shower, double vanities and vaulted ceilings and linen closet.

There are three additional bedrooms and a second full bath.

The model has an optional finished basement with a full bath, recreation room and study for $13,000.

Mount Bay is building three different Colonial homes in Dunteachin. The model is the 2,280-square-foot Sturbridge. With base price of $234,900, it has a 12-by-11-foot country kitchen with work island and pantry.

Other features include an 18-by-13-foot great room, optional 19-by-14-foot family room ($10,000) with optional fireplace ($3,800), living room and dining rooms, and powder room.

The home also has a two-car garage and unfinished basement.

Catonsville Builders, Dorsey Builders, Trinity Builders and Yorktown Homes, four Howard County builders, will build single-family homes ranging from 2,300 to 4,000 square feet.
