Southern-AA senior basketball players Laekeka Wesley and Megan Ebersole suffered multiple injuries in a car accident Wednesday and remain in Prince George's County Hospital.

"Both Laekeka and Megan are in critical but stable condition. Megan is about to go into surgery as we speak [Friday]," said Southern coach Linda Kilpatrick. "That's all that we know at this time."

Wesley, a center who was a second-team All-Metro selection last season, and Ebersole, a forward, were injured when their car was hit head-on on Route 2 as they were driving home from practice.

Wesley, a passenger in the car, suffered two collapsed lungs. Ebersole, the driver, suffered a broken clavicle, a broken arm and a collapsed lung. Wesley was averaging 17.1 points and 15.6 rebounds for the Bulldogs.

Last night, Southern (6-5) beat Glen Burnie, 49-30, behind Leketia Mullen's 15 points and Lisa Biederman's 14.
