Baseball Atlanta Braves -- Agreed to terms with former Orioles OF Dave Gallagher on a $700,000, one-year contract.

Orioles -- Agreed to terms with C Gregg Zaun on a one-year contract.

California Angels -- Promoted Tim Mead from VP of media relations to assistant GM. Named Preston Gomez special assistant to the GM.

Cleveland Indians -- Agreed to terms with C Joel Skinner on a minor-league contract and invited him to spring training.

Los Angeles Dodgers -- Signed P Rudy Seanez to a minor-league contract and invited him to spring training as a nonroster player.

New York Yankees -- Announced the retirement of head groundskeeper Frankie Albohn. Named Bob Wilkinson stadium superintendent and head groundskeeper. Announced that Triple-A Columbus manager Stump Merrill and first-base coach Hop Cassady will return. Named Tom Spencer outfield coach and hitting instructor at Columbus and Nardi Contreras pitching coach at Columbus.

Philadelphia Phillies -- Agreed to terms with P Tommy Greene on a one-year contract.

Fukuoka Daiei Hawks (Japanese Pacific League) -- Agreed to terms with OF Kevin Reimer, formerly of the Milwaukee Brewers, and OF Brian Traxler, a former Los Angeles Dodgers farmhand.

Basketball Chicago Bulls -- Activated G John Paxson from the injured list.

Dallas Mavericks -- Activated F Randy White from the injured list.

New Jersey Nets -- Placed C Rick Mahorn on the injured list. Activated C Dwayne Schintzius from the injured list.

Mississippi Gamblers (USBL) -- Named Dave Whitney assistant coach and director of player personnel and George Rosetti assistant coach.


Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference -- Named Loyola F Michael Reese co-Player of the Week in men's basketball along with Siena G Doremus Bennerman.

Angelo State -- Announced the addition of women's soccer to its intercollegiate athletic program, effective in the fall semester.

McNeese State -- Dismissed F Keithon Hawkins from the men's basketball team.

Football NFL -- Named following Players of the Week: Los Angeles Raiders QB Jeff Hostetler, Green Bay Packers CB George Teague and Kansas City Chiefs special teams player Keith Cash.

Cincinnati Bengals -- Announced the resignation of defensive coordinator Ron Lynn.

Indianapolis Colts -- Named Vince Tobin assistant coach.

Hockey NHL -- Named Pittsburgh Penguins RW Joey Mullen and Ottawa Senators C Alexei Yashin to the East All-Star team, replacing Mark Howe and Bob Kudelski, and Dallas RW Russ Courtnall to the West team, replacing Mike Modano.

Mighty Ducks of Anaheim -- Assigned D Myles O'Connor to IHL San Diego for conditioning. Signed D Don McSween to a one-year contract.

New York Islanders -- Recalled F Dan Plante and F Jason Simon from IHL Salt Lake.

Pittsburgh Penguins -- Assigned LW Markus Naslund and RW Justin Duberman to IHL Cleveland.

San Jose Sharks -- Recalled G Wade Flaherty from IHL Kansas City.

Roller hockey Roller Hockey International -- Announced that Las Vegas was awarded a team for the 1994 season.
