Police seeking gunman in Southgate store holdup

A gunman robbed a Southgate convenience store early Sunday, county police reported.

According to the police report, the gunman walked into the Royal Farms store in the 200 block of Oakwood Road at 2:17 a.m. and demanded money from the clerk.

The clerk turned over the cash, and the gunman ran outside toward the Town and Country apartment complex. He was described as black, about 5 feet tall and in his 30s. He was wearing gold wire-rim glasses, a long leather trench coat and a black leather hat.
