Erin Nett, a Level 9 gymnast from Aberdeen Churchville Parks & Recreation Gymnastics, won the senior division in her competition at the Harford Holiday Meet.

She was tops in the all-around competition with a 33.9. She won the gold medal on vaulting (8.9) and bars (8.6).

Nett, 13, advanced to the senior division for this meet and also finished fourth on floor exercise.

Teammate Angela Mullan won the balance beam competition and placed third in the all-around.

In the Level 8 competition, Kelly Burgos placed second in the all-around and finished third on vaulting and floor exercise.

Stacey Murnyak was the second-place finisher on balance beam with a score of 8.8, and her score of 33.0 earned fourth place all-around. Jennifer Glasgow brought home second-place honors on floor exercise for her score of 8.85.

The team placed third in the team competition.

At the Christmas Invitational at Baltimore County Gymnastics in Essex, the ACPR Level 5 team took first place with a score of 107.3.

In the 7-8 age group, Angela Ferg won the all-around honors with 35.3, finishing first on uneven parallel bars (9.25) and second in the other three events.

In the 12-14 age group, Kristin McCallum won gold in the all-around with 34.1. She placed first on bars, balance beam and floor exercise and second on vaulting. Teammate Betsy Dart placed second on all-around, bars, beam and floor exercise.

Jessica Johann, in the 9-11 age group, won first in the all-around competition (34.6). Teammates Candice Buckley and Jennifer Rosinski also won gold medals on bars (9.15) and vaulting (8.95), respectively.

Finishing well for ACPR also was Rachael Baitch, a gold medalist on floor exercise with 9.4 and first on balance beam with 9.0.

In the Level 6 competition, the team took first place with a combined score of 104.9.

Tricia O'Connor, a competitor in the 12-14 age group, took home first-place honors in the all-around with 33.45. Her score of 9.35 earned first place on floor, and she also won the balance-beam competition.

Janet Bane placed second on vaulting with a score of 8.85.

In the 8-11 age group, Kelly Slagle placed second in the all-around with 34.4 and took home third-place ribbons for vaulting and floor exercise.

The Level 8 team also was successful, winning with a score of 99.4. Burgos was the top winner in the all-around competition with 34.0. She won bars, beam and floor and was second in vaulting.

In the 16-year-old age group, Murnyak won first place on four events, and Kristy Patterson placed first on floor exercise and bars.

Boys soccer

Under-10 -- The Greater Harford Strikers defeated Parkville, 6-2, at the Maryland Sports Arena, on goals by Sean McAvoy (three), Chris Schneider (two) and Robby Singer (one).

Assists were provided by Schneider, Singer and Jeff Kocher (two). Chris Smith was in the goal for the Strikers.

In an earlier 10-3 win over Darlington and a 4-4 tie against Joppatowne recently in indoor action at the Maryland Arena, the Scorpions' McAvoy paced all scorers with four goals and one assist, followed by Kocher (three goals, two assists), Corey Bolchoz (two, one), Schneider (one, two), and Brian Kemper (one, one).

Luke Meissner, Brandon Lijewski and Joey Meise also scored, and Mike Costello added two assists.

Goalkeeping duties were divided between Chris Smith, Kemper

and MacAvoy.

Under-14 -- The Hickory Rebels scored a 5-3 victory over the Harford Kicks last weekend at the Maryland Sports Arena. Ryan MacNeill, Jeff Tolson, Mike Malone, Steve Poole and Brandon Schmoll led the scoring, while goalie Matt Hamme anchored the defense.

The Rebels also scored a come-from-behind 5-3 victory over the Genstar Booters at the Maryland Sports Arena.

The Rebels' scoring attack was led by midfielder Brad Dixon with two goals. Chris White, Steve Poole and Nick Hayes each had one goal.

The Rebels' defense was anchored by goalie Matt Hamme, who held the Booters scoreless in the second half.

The Greater Harford Scorpions scored a 6-2 victory over the Lawler Lazers at the Maryland Sports Arena last weekend. Goalkeeper Jim Kopp (seven saves) and Derek Snyder (one save), along with Tim Bowman, Nate Goulden, Mike Coughlin and Tony Joynes were strong on defense.

Adam Meissner led the team in scoring with two goals and three assists.

Snyder scored two goals, while Goulden and Jason Kemper each scored once, and Eric Heisey added an assist.

Girls soccer

The Fallston Fireballs under-12 team advanced to the Maryland State Cup Tournament quarterfinals with a 2-1 win over Parkville Soccer Club and a scoreless tie against MSI-BRADDOCK.

Meekah Hopkins and Jenny Schuerholz scored the goals in the win over Parkville.
