CONWAY, S.C. — EMMITSBURG -- Mount St. Mary's (7-2, 3-0) jumped out to a 34-8 halftime lead and defeated Robert Morris (1-10, 1-2), 83-40, in a Northeast Conference game yesterday. Mount St. Mary's forced 22 turnovers in the first 24 minutes.

Loyola 87, Davidson 62

Junior forward Patty Stoffey shot 11-for-15 from the field and 10-for-13 from the line, scoring 32 to lead Loyola (3-6) past Davidson (2-7) at Reitz Arena.

C. Carolina 58, Towson 52

CONWAY, S.C. -- Melissa Herbert scored a game-high 24 points and grabbed seven rebounds as Coastal Carolina (6-4, 3-1) ended Towson State's (6-4, 3-1) three-game winning streak in a Big South game.

Essex 63, Alleghany (Pa.) 57

Carmen Hutchins had 19 points and 17 rebounds to lead Essex CC (2-6) past Alleghany CC (4-6).

S.C. State 91, Morgan State 59

Morgan State (0-11) remained winless as Wanda Wiggins scored 23 points to lead visiting South Carolina State past the Golden Bears.
