Clemson tops Terps women, 54-52

CLEMSON, S.C. -- Jaci Stimson's left-handed hook with 1.3 seconds remaining gave Clemson an upset victory, 54-52, over No. 24 Maryland in an Atlantic Coast Conference women's game at Littlejohn Coliseum last night.

Maryland (7-4, 2-1) jumped out to a 14-8 lead, making seven of eight shots to start the game. Clemson (7-4, 2-1) then went on an 18-4 run and led 24-18 at the 6:30 mark.

Maryland led again, 42-38, 10 minutes into the second half, but Clemson went on a 13-0 run to take the lead for good.

Maryland was led by Bonnie Rimkus, who had 14 points and 15 rebounds. Jessica Barr led Clemson with 20 points.
