Beeten's 5 three-pointers,17 points lift Goucher, 84-65

LANCASTER, PA — LANCASTER, Pa. -- Chad Beeten scored 17 points -- including five of six from three-point range -- to lead Goucher (6-3) to an 84-65 victory over Beaver College (1-4) in the consolation of the Rotary Tip-Off New Year Tournament at Franklin & Marshall yesterday.

Goucher took a 10-point halftime lead by shooting 50 percent from the field in the first half. Eric Ward and Orick Smith led Beaver with 14 each.

David Clark and Predrag Durkovic each added 16 for the Gophers.

Clark (Catonsville) became the first player in Goucher College history to score 1,000 points. He set the record on the game's first basket. Clark has 1,014 points.

BCCC 94, Catonsville CC 84

Sophomore guard David Brown scored 24 points, including four three-pointers, to lift Baltimore City Community College (5-6) over host Catonsville CC (4-7). Freshman Donta Drake added 22 for the Red Devils.
