Backup Camper lifts Terps women by Fla. State

TALLAHASSEE, FLA — TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Junior reserve forward Kesha Camper scored 19 points to lead No. 24 Maryland (7-3, 2-0) to a 69-54 victory over Florida State (3-9, 0-4) in an Atlantic Coast Conference women's game last night.

Camper finished 9-for-12 from the floor and 1-for-5 from the foul line.

After trailing the entire game, Maryland took the lead at the 12:45 mark of the second half on Camper's layup for a 44-42 lead.

Monica Adams tied a career-high with 18 points. Bonnie Rimkus helped control the boards by pulling down nine rebounds.

Florida State was led by Christy Derlak with 23 points and Allison Percy with 20.

Maryland shot 61.4 percent from the field, 22.5 percent higher than the Seminoles. The Terps shot 65.2 percent from the free-throw line. Florida State, which has lost six of its past seven, shot 58.3.
