A 25-year-old Taneytown man, who severely cut the ends of two left fingers while using an electric wood shaper at his house about 3:30 p.m. yesterday, was flown to the Raymond Curtis Hand Center at Union Memorial Hospital by a state police MedEvac helicopter.

Eric Peterson, of the 3600 block of Walnut Grove Road, was taken to the Northwest Middle School for the flight by a Taneytown medic unit after paramedics treated him at the scene.

His condition was not immediately available, and emergency officials said they had no information on how the injury occurred.
