1. Western (record: 7-1, 200 points) -- Last week's ranking: 1. Chanel Wright scored 65 points in three games as the Doves took second place in the IAABO Tournament. Wright scored 25 in a 58-35 victory over Watkins Mill on Monday, and she had 23 as the Doves defeated Good Counsel, 69-61, on Thursday. In Friday's championship game against Elizabeth Seton, Western failed to hold a six-point lead with under three minutes left and lost, 59-54. Next game: Tomorrow vs. Walbrook.

2. Hammond (5-1, 183) -- Last week's ranking: 2. The Golden Bears finished third in the IAABO tournament. After edging W. T. Woodson, 45-43, on Monday, Hammond was ousted by Elizabeth Seton, 59-47, on Thursday. Friday, Hammond routed Good Counsel, 73-49, in the consolation game. Kacy Williams scored 48 in the three games. Next game: Today at North Carroll.

3. Lake Clifton (4-0, 181) -- Last week's ranking: 3. The Lakers were idle. Next game: Tomorrow at Southwestern.

4. St. Frances (10-1, 175) -- Last week's ranking: 4. The Panthers rallied from a seven-point third-quarter deficit to defeat No. 14 Seton Keough, 61-52, on Monday in the opening round of the Holly Division of the Holly & Hoops Tournament. Kristi Webb scored a game-high 18 and Melba Chambers, scoreless until the final 2:30 of the third quarter, added 15 points. Tuesday's championship game against Bethlehem Catholic (Pa.) was canceled due to snow. Next game: Tomorrow at the Institute of Notre Dame.

5. St. Mary's (9-2, 160) -- Last week's ranking: 6. The Saints won three games to capture the Noel Classic. Thursday, St. Mary's routed Parkside, 71-42, and later rallied from a nine-point halftime deficit to defeat No. 7 Old Mill, 69-51. Friday, the Saints built a 40-point lead after three quarters en route to a 66-30 rout of

Archbishop Spalding. Tournament MVP Tara Foran totaled 50 points and 29 rebounds in the three games. Next game: Tomorrow vs. Archbishop Spalding.

6. Mount Hebron (3-4, 148) -- Last week's ranking: 5. The Vikings lost two of three games in the Benjamin Hoops Tournament at Lake Braddock High (Va.). Thursday, Mount Hebron lost to Centreville, 50-47, and later dropped a 45-36 decision to Bishop McDevitt. The Vikings rebounded on Friday with a 44-29 win over Paul IV. Emily Yanero and Rachael Cimmier scored 38 apiece in (( the three games. Next game: Friday vs. No. 19 Howard.

7. Old Mill (5-2, 134) -- Last week's ranking: 8. The Patriots went 2-1 in the Noel Classic. After defeating Mercy, 45-27, on Thursday, Old Mill later was outscored 25-5 in the fourth quarter en route to a 69-51 loss to No. 5 St. Mary's. Friday, the Patriots defeated Archbishop Spalding, 62-51. Next game: Today vs. North County.

8. South Carroll (5-1, 115) -- Last week's ranking: 10. The Cavaliers were idle. Next game: Tomorrow vs. Linganore.

12. McDonogh (6-2, 92) -- Last week's ranking: 13. The Eagles went 2-0 in the Noel Classic on Thursday, but prior commitments by many of the players prevented McDonogh from competing on Friday. Sonia Chase scored a combined 35 as the Eagles beat Broadneck, 43-38, and Parkside, 45-30. Next game: Friday at St. Paul's

13. Severna Park (5-1, 80) -- Last week's ranking: 12. The Falcons suffered their first loss of the season, 51-36, to Bethlehem Catholic in the opening round of the Holly Division of the Holly & Hoops Tournament on Monday. nTC 14. Seton Keough (6-4, 73) -- Last week's ranking: 15. The Gators lost to No. 4 St. Frances, 61-52, in the opening round of the Holly Division of the Holly & Hoops Tournament on Monday. 15. Poly (8-2, 51) -- Last week's ranking: 18. The Engineers won their Poly Invitational by defeating Surrattsville, 51-39, on Monday; Milford Mill, 49-38, on Wednesday; and Patterson, 61-39, on Thursday. Angela Brice scored a combined 35 in the three games. Next game: Jan. 11 at Dunbar.

16. Arundel (6-1, 37) -- Last week's ranking: Unranked. The Wildcats re-enter the Top 20 after winning their Arundel Holiday Tournament. Shannon Noon scored 17 in a 50-38 victory over Roosevelt on Monday, and Cortney Finch scored 13 as the Wildcats edged No. 17 Westminster, 55-53, in Friday's championship game.
