The parties are over now, and it's time to resume our normal routines. I hope everyone had a good vacation.

The Bowie/Crofton Multiple Sclerosis support group will meet from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Thursday at the adult care center of Bowie, 3112 Belair Drive. Representatives from the Social Security Administration will speak. For more information, call 721-1537 or 793-3896.

The Crofton Association of Retired Persons is planning to tour the Holocaust Museum in Washington on Jan. 11. For more information, call Therese Fillini at 721-9055.

The Crofton Jaycees need a few good men and women to represent Crofton in the 46th annual Outstanding Young Marylander (OYM) recognition program. Sponsored by the Maryland Jaycees, the OYM program honors men and women between the ages of 21 and 39 who possess outstanding leadership qualities in business, the arts, and community and public service. The Jaycees are asking local business and civic organizations to submit nominations by Saturday. Call Michele Devine at 721-7016.

Crofton will turn 30 years old this year, and the Crofton Civic Association wants to celebrate. But the members need help planning the celebration. If you are interested, call Crofton Recreation Assistant Sue Bents at 721-2302.

Us Kids, a support group for children ages 6-13 whose parents have broken up or are remarrying, is accepting registrations for new sessions. The group meets on Monday evenings at All Saints Lutheran Church, 16510 Mount Oak Road in Bowie. Parental participation is required. Call Janis Thompson at 464-8385.

The Crofton Scrabble Club meets the second Friday of the month at Davidsonville's Holy Family Catholic Church on Route 214 and on the fourth Friday of the month at Crofton Country Club. Play starts at 7:30 p.m. at both locations. For more information, call Mary Lou Goetze at (410) 798-4627.

The Crofton Meadows Homeowners Association meets at 7:30 p.m. on the second Thursday of every month at Comanco's offices, 2139 Defense Highway. Meetings are open to all residents in Crofton Meadows. Elections for three board seats are planned for April. The next meeting is Jan. 13.
