Waugh Chapel PTA plans skating party on Thursday

The Waugh Chapel Elementary School PTA is having a skating party from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday.

The party will be held at Skate City II Roller Skating Rink on Route 3 in Crofton.

Students, faculty, family and friends of Waugh Chapel Elementary are welcome to attend. Admission is $2.50, and skate rentals are $1.25.

Learn about your local merchants at the West Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce Business Before Hours Networking Breakfast from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Jan. 14.

The breakfast will be at Perry's Golden Flame, 1210 Annapolis Road in Odenton. The cost is $12.50 for members with advance reservations, $15 for members at the door, and $25 for nonmembers.

At 8 a.m., two businesses will present five-minute profiles of what they do. Then, from 8:10 a.m. until the end, each person will get three minutes to talk about their services or products. Participants are urged to bring their literature and pass it out.

* The Chamber will hold its annual meeting at 11 a.m. on Jan. 26 at Kauffman's Tavern, 329 Gambrills Road in Gambrills.

County Executive Robert Neall is the guest speaker and will address the state of the county and the issues that will affect business in 1994.

The 1994 Annual Report and Program of Action will be presented to members. The cost is $20 for members and $30 for nonmembers. There will be a choice of entrees. Prospective members are welcome. Reservations are required by Jan. 24. Please call 672-3422.

The O'Malley Senior Center is offering several programs in January:

* A hearing screening will be held Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Appointments are necessary.

* At 10 a.m. to noon on Friday, Mary Ann Love of the Office of Information and Assistance of the county Department of Aging will be available by appointment to discuss services provided by the department.

* Malcolm Robertson of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees Assistance Program at Fort Meade will be available by appointment from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Monday to explain benefits available to retired federal employees and to provide assistance in getting benefits.
