Store manager robbed outside bank

January 03, 1994

A shoe store manager was robbed of a bag containing an

undetermined amount of money Wednesday night while standing outside a bank in Brooklyn Park, county police said.

Carolyn Louis Gaigler, 27, of Reisterstown, was about to make a night deposit at First National Bank in the 5700 block of Ritchie Highway when she was approached by a man about 9:30 p.m.

"Give me the bank bag, I have a gun in my jacket," the man reportedly told her.

Ms. Gaigler told police he never showed a gun, but did have his hand under his jacket as if he was armed. The woman gave the man the bank bag, and he fled, running south on Ritchie Highway.

He was described as a black male, 5 feet 6 inches tall with a light complexion.

He was wearing glasses, a blue knee-length down jacket and a blue snap-type cap.
