Chesapeake holds off Severn

Host Chesapeake High captured the championship of the second annual Chesapeake-AA Girls Holiday Tournament by holding off Severn, 48-38, in the title game yesterday.

Junior forward Ericka Herron scored 14 points and grabbed eight rebounds and junior point guard Sandra Norris added 12 points to lead the Cougars (3-3) over the Admirals (8-2).

Senior guard Jenny Lewis added four points and five assists for the winners and senior forward Megan Van Wambeke chipped in with 11 rebounds and six points. Junior center Jamie Parsons also had 11 rebounds along with six points.

Sophomore guard Monique Jennings paced Severn and all scorers with 18 and sophomore center Kate Graw had 12.
