We will be bidding this year goodbye Friday. While looking forward to many new adventures and activities in 1994, there may be some things that you anticipate with trepidation. One may be how to finance your child's college education.

A Financial Aid Night is planned for 7 p.m. Jan. 4 in the North County High School auditorium, 10 E. First Ave. in Ferndale. Parents and students from public and private high schools are welcome.

Larry Riordan, the financial director at Mount St. Mary's College, will provide important information on financial aid. Questions will be answered on family contributions, scholarships, grants and loans. He also will explain the Free Application for Student Aid (FAFSA) program.

It's not too early for high school parents to begin looking for college assistance, NCHS guidance counselor Roy Payne said.

For additional information, call Payne at 222-6970.

Charles Haslup, musical director of the Notables, a seniors entertainment group, presented music scholarships to four Catonsville Community College students at a gathering at St. Christopher's Church last Tuesday.

This is the third year the Notables have given scholarships to local college students to encourage them in their careers. The group raises the money through their musical engagements.

The Notables are affiliated with the American Association of Retired Persons Chapter 3850.
