Howard County police arrested a Columbia man last week after his car crashed into an ambulance responding to an emergency.

Brian Jerrold Street, 21, of the 6200 block of Cardinal Lane was charged with driving while intoxicated and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle. He was released on personal recognizance Wednesday.

Police said Mr. Street was driving his Toyota Corolla in the Harper's Choice area at 8:25 p.m. Monday when he collided with the fire and rescue vehicle crossing the intersection of Cedar Lane and Little Patuxent Parkway. No one was injured in the collision and no patients were aboard the ambulance, police said.
