Colorado Rockies -- Agreed to terms with IF Jim Tatum on a minor-league contract.

New York Mets -- Named Mookie Wilson roving minor-league instructor and community liaison.

Oakland Athletics -- Agreed to a one-year contract with P Dave Righetti.

Philadelphia Phillies -- Tentatively agree to a $24.9 million, four-year contract extension that runs through 1998 with OF Lenny Dykstra.

Basketball

0 Cleveland Cavaliers -- Signed F Rod Higgins.

College

California -- Extended the contract of head football coach Keith Gilbertson through the 1998 season.

Miami (Ohio) University -- Placed men's track and cross country coach Charles R. Zody on probation indefinitely for making "derogatory remarks of racial, sexual and religious nature."

Rice -- Named David Lee offensive coordinator.

Football

NFL -- Fined New York Giants QB Phil Simms $1,500 for a dress code violation against New Orleans on Dec. 20.

Buffalo Bills -- Re-signed LB Darryl Talley to a one-year contract extension.

Dallas Cowboys -- Reached agreement with QB Troy Aikman on an eight-year contract extension and OT Erik Williams on a three-year extension.

Green Bay Packers -- Agreed to terms with K Chris Jacke on a three-year contract extension. Re-signed TE Darryl Ingram. Placed LB James Willis on injured reserve.

Los Angeles Raiders -- Agreed to terms with FS Eddie Anderson on a three-year contract, with FS Anthony Newman on a two-year contract and K Jeff Jaeger on a three-year contract. Agreed to terms with CB Terry McDaniel and C Dan Turk also got new deals.

Los Angeles Rams -- Signed S Anthony Newman to a two-year contract extension.

New Orleans Saints -- Signed WR J. J. McCleskey to the active roster.

New York Jets -- Agreed to terms with RB Johnny Johnson on a two-year contract.

Philadelphia Eagles -- Re-signed RB Herschel Walkerto a two-year contract extension.

Phoenix Cardinals -- Agreed to terms with K Greg Davis on a three-year contract.

Pittsburgh Steelers -- Signed OL Carlton Haselrig to a contract extension.

San Francisco 49ers -- Signed R John Taylor and TE Brent Jones to four-year contract extensions; DB Merton Hanks, DB Damien Russell, G Ralph Tamm and R Nate Singleton to three-year contract extensions; and DE Karl Wilson, G Derrick Deese and CB Eric Davis to two-year contract extensions.

Seattle Seahawks -- Announced that S Eugene Robinson, LB Terry Wooden and FB Tracy Johnson agreed to new contracts.

Washington Redskins -- Agreed to terms with T Jim Lachey on a five-year contract extension and WR Ricky Sanders on a three-year contract.

Chicago Blackhawks -- Recalled D Keith Carney from IHL Indianapolis.

Whitbread Round the World race -- Announced that Eric Tabarly was hired to take over from Daniel Malle as skipper of maxi yacht La Poste.

U.S. Swim Team -- Named Jon Urbanchek men's coach, Richard Quick women's coach, Ron Ballatore men's assistant coach and Mark Schubert women's assistant coach for the 1994 World Championships.
