TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Florida State hit eight of its first nine shots and shot 72 percent in the first half to pull away from Mount St. Mary's early in a 108-81 win last night.

While the Seminoles (5-1) started out at a torrid pace, the Mount (3-3) missed its first eight attempts and shot 26 percent in the first half.

The Seminoles' Bob Sura was 5-for-6 from the field in the first half.

Mount coach Jim Phelan said: "We just cannot afford to fall behind early against this caliber of team. Once they get going, they're tough to play against."
