American Properties announces donations

Columbia-based American Properties has announced donations to six social programs, many with Howard County connections.

The money was generated through a fund of donations from real estate settlements that were matched by American Properties.

The donations were allocated to the Therapeutic Riding and Recreation Center in Lisbon, $1,100; the Foreign Information Referral Network, $1,100; Help the Kids, $1,100 for children's programs in Howard County; the Howard County School of Technology, $1,100; Special Olympics, $300 and more than 60 gifts were given to families in Howard County through the Salvation Army.

9 county businesses get matching grants

Nine Howard County businesses have received matching grants from the Maryland Industrial Partnerships to develop technical projects.

The nine Howard County businesses receiving grants from $50,000 to $70,000 a company are AlliedSignal Microelectronics and Technology Center, Nucletron Corp., Scientific Spinal, Micro Star Co., Westinghouse Electric Corp. Systems Group, Science & Technology Research, Kanan Associates, Columbia Imaging and S3 Technologies.

Boender Associates awarded contract

Boender Associates of Ellicott City has announced that the firm has been awarded a requirements contract to provide all surveying and drafting services to Howard County government for the 1994 fiscal year.

Boender was awarded the contract based on competitive bids.

This is the sixth year it has been awarded this contract.
