Nissan expects plunge in exports

Nissan Motor Co.'s exports are likely to plunge by nearly 20 percent next year as a high yen makes Japanese goods more costly and as Nissan produces more cars abroad, the head of Japan's second-largest carmaker said yesterday.

"Exports from Japan to the United States will be small in 1994," President Yoshifumi Tsuji said. "Sales of cars made there have already grown 60 percent."
