Operating room manager chosen at CCGH

Barbara Hobaugh has been appointed clinical manager of the operating room at Carroll County General Hospital.

She will be responsible for coordinating staffing, equipment and supplies for the more than 10,500 surgical procedures a year performed at the hospital.

Ms. Hobaugh, who received her nursing degree from the Bryn Mawr Hospital School of Nursing in Bryn Mawr, Pa., began her nursing career in 1961 as an operating room nurse at Allentown General Hospital in Pennsylvania.

She also has a bachelor of science degree in nursing education from West Chester State University.

Most recently she was a free-lance consultant preparing policies and procedures for physician practices. She is also an officer in the Army Reserve with the rank of lieutenant colonel. She was awarded the Army Achievement Medal in September 1983 for her services as an Army nurse.
