December 20, 1993

One man was arrested and two more were being sought in an armed holdup early Saturday at a Wendy's restaurant in the Dobbin Center shopping plaza, Howard County police said.

James Jay Morris, 25, of no fixed address in Baltimore, was arrested by state police on Interstate 95 near Route 100 shortly after the 1:20 a.m holdup, police said. He was charged with one count of armed robbery.

Authorities said two men, one armed with a handgun, confronted four employees as they closed the restaurant, located in the 6300 block of Dobbin Center Way. The armed man forced the manager to open the safe and took an undetermined amount of money.

The two then were driven away by a third man. State police spotted the car and stopped it on I-95 a few minutes later. Two men ran away, police said. Authorities could not provide a description of the car.
