TOLEDO, Ohio -- The Baltimore Bays took advantage of a two-for-one deal yesterday against the Toledo Twisters and in the process improved their record in the U.S. Interregional Soccer League to 5-0.

In a rare indoor soccer doubleheader, Roberto Ascenzi scored six goals and Joe Layfield had four to lead the Bays to a 21-4 victory in the first game, then former Baltimore Blast star Billy Ronson contributed 10 assists in the second for a 22-2 victory, giving the Bays a sweep for the price of one road trip.

Toledo's record fell to 0-6.

In the opener, the Bays built a 5-2 first-quarter lead on the Twisters, then added three goals in the second, two by Layfield, to extend their advantage to 8-2. Ascenzi scored twice in a five-goal third period and an eight-goal fourth quarter for Baltimore.

Derrick Marcano scored three goals for Baltimore, and Rob Elliott added two.

In the second game, Ronson scored two goals for the Bays when he wasn't helping teammates score. Layfield had four goals, and Elliott and Jeff Nattans each added three.

Baltimore built an 11-1 halftime lead, and Marcano contributed two goals.
