Hearing tonight on proposal for Laurel stadium

A state delegate who represents Laurel has scheduled a public hearing today at 7 p.m. on a proposal by Washington Redskins owner Jack Kent Cooke to build a 78,600-seat stadium next to Laurel Race Course.

Del. John Morgan, R-District 13, said Redskins representatives and state and county officials from Arundel, Howard and Prince George's will brief the public between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m.

Audience members will have three minutes to speak on the issue.

The meeting will be in the cafeteria of Laurel High School, on Cherry Lane.
