AMS Racing -- Announced that four-time Indy champion Al Unser drive a new Lola-Cosworth in 1994.

Orioles -- Agreed to terms with P Mark Eichhorn and C Rich Gedman on minor-league contracts.

Chicago Cubs -- Agreed to terms with former Orioles C Mark Parent, C Mike Maksudian, C George Pedre, IF Cris Colon and IF Todd Haney on minor-league contracts.

Chicago White Sox -- Announced that manager Terry Francona, hitting instructor Mike Barnett, pitching coach Kirk Champion, coach Sam Hairston and trainer Steve Davis will return for the 1994 season.

Houston Astros -- Extended the contract of broadcaster Milo Hamilton through the 1994 season.

Los Angeles Dodgers -- Agreed to terms with IF Jeff Treadway on a minor-league contract.

Big Ten -- Announced that it would not further discipline Indiana basketball coach Bob Knight, who has served a one-game suspension imposed by the university for unsportsmanlike conduct.

Patriot League -- Named Navy F Adria Schneck Rookie of the Week.

Clemson -- Named James Earle and Rich Bisaccia assistant football coaches.

Frostburg State -- Named Ray Kiddy as the first women's soccer coach in school history.

Georgia Southern -- Extended the contract of football coach Tim Stowers through the 1997 season.

Johns Hopkins -- Announced that junior DL Michael House was named to the GTE Academic All-America College Division first team. Senior LB Stu Markley was named to the second team.

Kent -- Named Jim Corrigall associate head football coach. Fired Jon Hoke, defensive coordinator; Ricky Porter, running backs coach; and Thomas Spann, linebackers coach.

Loyola -- Announced that Sue DeMars has resigned as coach of the women's volleyball team.

UMBC -- Announced that sophomore F Damon Tweedy, who left the team for academic reasons last month, has rejoined the Retrievers.

Randolph-Macon -- Announced that soccer F Mike Henning (Towson) has been named Division III third-team All-American.

Southern Cal -- Suspended reserve CB Irwin Lincoln, who was arrested for allegedly waving a gun from a car.

Towson State -- Announced that Nance Reed, has been promoted from assistant AD to associate director. Announced that senior DB Aaron Bates was named to the 1993 GTE Academic All-America University Division second team.

Western Maryland -- Announced that senior P Paul McCord was named to the GTE Academic All-America College Division second team.

Wyoming -- Extended the contract of football coach Joe Tiller (15-15-1) through the 1997 season.


Miami Dolphins -- Placed CB Troy Vincent on IR.

New York Jets -- Waived DE Alfred Oglesby. Signed DE Keith Willis.

Philadelphia Eagles -- Agreed to terms with K Roger Ruzek.

Phoenix Cardinals -- GM Larry Wilson announced his resignation and said he will accept another position within the organization.


Ottawa Senators -- Announced that D Darren Rumble and LW Pavol Demitra have been assigned to AHL Prince Edward Island.


NPSL -- Announced the sale of the Detroit Rockers to Michael Ilitch and Marian Ilitch.

Chicago Power (NPSL) -- Suspended F Keder indefinitely.

Harrisburg Heat (NPSL) -- Signed former Blast D Richard Chinapoo as a player/assistant coach to a one-year contract. Placed M Danny Kelly on the DL retroactive to Dec. 5. Placed M David Bascome on waivers for the purpose of giving him his unconditional release.
