Man, 28, charged with break-in at Thrifty Muffler

Annapolis police arrested a 28-year-old Admiral Drive resident early yesterday for breaking into a muffler shop in the 1900 block of West St.

Police said they found Jonathan B. Scott, of the 200 block of Admiral Drive, locked in the bathroom of the Thrifty Muffler Shop about 3:30 a.m. He was charged with breaking and entering and destruction of property.

According to police, an intruder cut the telephone lines and broke a window in a garage bay door to get into the muffler shop. The owner reported that nothing had been taken.

2 men rob Safeway store in Edgewater

Two men robbed a Paceway store in the 100 block of Old Solomon's Island Road in Edgewater Monday evening, county police reported.

According to the police report, the men walked in at 7:43 p.m. and made for the office area.

A clerk approached one of the men walking out of the office, who told her to empty the cash drawer. She gave him all the money, and both robbers left the store.
