Gunmen rob Severn man outside store

A 21-year-old Severn man told police that he was robbed outside a Laurel convenience store Monday night.

Michael Anthony Smith of the 8200 block of Parham Court said he stopped at the 7-Eleven in the 3200 block of Laurel-Fort Meade Road at 10:10 p.m.

He told police that two men ran up from behind and ordered him at gunpoint to hand over his money. The robbers also took Mr. Smith's white windbreaker and tennis shoes.

Mr. Smith then drove home and called police.

Armed man robs Jessup gas station

A man armed with a handgun stuck up a Jessup gas station early yesterday morning, county police reported.

Investigators said the man walked into the Parkway Shell on Route 175 near Clark Road at 12:39 a.m. and brought a bag of potato chips to counter. When the clerk rang up the purchase and the cash drawer opened, the man took out a handgun and grabbed money out of the register.
