Southwest to buy Morris Air

Southwest Airlines said yesterday it has agreed to buy fellow low-fare carrier Morris Air, giving Southwest more airplanes and greater reach into the West.

Southwest would buy all of Salt Lake City-based Morris for 3.57 million shares of Southwest's common stock. If approved by government regulators, the $125 million deal would close by the end of the year.
