New York Yankees -- Traded SS Spike Owen to the California Angels for minor-league P Jose Musset.

Seattle Mariners -- Signed P Randy Johnson to a contract through the 1997 season.

College Midwestern Collegiate Conference -- Announced it will add five new members for the 1994-95 academic year: Northern Illinois, Wright State, Cleveland State, Wisconsin-Green Bay and Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Albany (N.Y.) State -- Named Gail Cummings-Danson assistant director of athletics, senior women's administrator and women's lacrosse coach.

Clarkson -- Named Casey Jones assistant hockey coach.

Hunter -- Named Matt Burcaw men's interim tennis coach.

Dallas Stars -- Recalled G Troy Gamble from IHL Kalamazoo. Released D Duane Joyce.

Edmonton Oilers -- Traded C Craig Fisher from AHL Cape Breton to the Winnipeg Jets for future considerations; assigned G Fred Brathwaite to Cape Breton and recalled G Wayne Cowley.
