Young leads W. Maryland to 87-70 romp

HAMPTON, VA. — Junior Pat Young (Mount St. Joseph) went 5-for-8 from three-point range and had a team-high 20 points, as Western Maryland (2-4, 2-2) defeated visiting Dickinson (3-3, 1-1), 87-70, in a Centennial Conference game last night.

Young hit three of his three-pointers to spark a 15-1 run in the final 3:30 of the first half and give Western Maryland a 47-21 halftime advantage.

Dickinson's Aaron Gingrich paced a second-half comeback with 25 points after the intermission and 31 overall. The Red Devils pulled to within 79-70 with just under a minute to play.

Hampton 98, Bowie State 83

HAMPTON, Va. -- Kevin Gregory and Kevin Spence each scored 16, leading Hampton (6-1, 3-0) over Bowie State in a CIAA game.

The Pirates shot 18 of 30 in the first half, Bowie State was 13-for-34, and Hampton took a 49-35 first-half lead. JaFonde Williams added 13, and Jermaine Gholson had 11 and 10 rebounds.

Muhlenberg 78, Washington 63

ALLENTOWN, Pa.

ALLENTOWN, Pa. -- Mike Gramer and Dennis Adams scored 17 each to lead host Muhlenberg past Washington.
