Missed shot leaves Hopkins short to NYU, 72-71

Johns Hopkins' Luke Busby missed a jump shot in the final seconds and the Blue Jays lost to New York University, 72-71, yesterday.

Busby scored a game-high 26 points and had six rebounds.

The game, which NYU led at halftime, 45-43, featured 19 lead changes and eight ties. Danny Stevens made two free throws with 50 seconds left to give NYU a 72-70 edge. Hopkins scored on a free throw to cut the lead to one.

NYU was led by Stevens' 19 points. Jon Gabriel scored 16 and had seven rebounds.
