December 05, 1993|By From Staff Reports

DAYTON, Ohio -- Scooter Alexander made a 10-foot jumper from the left side with 10 seconds remaining to lift Towson State (2-3) past the University of Dayton (1-1), 72-70, last night at UD Arena.

Dayton led only once, 25-22, with 3:37 to play in the first half.

Matt Campbell then made consecutive jumpers to put Towson up 26-25. Dayton tied it at 63 with 3:18 left in the game and tied it again at 70 with 18 seconds remaining.

Alexander then made his game-winning jumper, and a last-second three-point shot by Dayton's Alex Robertson bounced off the rim and time ran out as both teams scrambled for the rebound.
