Police charge 5 with sale, possession of marijuana

County police say they broke up a ring of people responsible for distributing marijuana in northern Anne Arundel County with arrests in Baltimore and Harmans on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.

Police said yesterday they arrested five people and seized 2 pounds of marijuana, $900 and three cars, capping a four-month investigation.

The lead investigator, Detective Richard Alban, said authorities learned that the marijuana came from Baltimore and was distributed in the Hanover area.

Those arrested were:

* Gary Patrick Allen, 32, of the 1100 block of Chesapeake Mobile Home Court in Hanover. He was charged with three counts of distribution of marijuana.

* Michael Francis Greene, 24, of the 1200 block of Angelsea St. in Baltimore. He was charged with two counts of distribution of marijuana.

* Gregory Michael Gill, 28, of the first block of Pikehall Place in Baltimore. He was charged with one count of possession with intent to distribute marijuana.

* Michael Shane Schwarz, 23, of the first block of Winkle Court in Baltimore. He was charged with one count of possession with intent to distribute marijuana.

* Savoya Alexandra Stanzione, 27, of the 1200 block of Angelsea St. in Baltimore. She was charged with one count of possession with intent to distribute marijuana.

Police said their investigation into the organization is continuing.
