Lake Shore Elementary invites kids to join Santa for sundaes

Holiday shopping, parties and concerts seem to be on everyone's calendar over the next few weeks.

From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. tonight, the Lake Shore Elementary PTA presents its annual Sundaes with Santa at the school.

Make-your-own sundaes will be offered for $1, with your choice of toppings.

Youngsters can visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Pictures will be available for a fee. Music will be provided by DJ Eddie Cashen.

Santa's Workshop will be open for young shoppers to purchase inexpensive gifts for family and friends. Free gift wrapping is available.

The Fort Smallwood Elementary PTA presents its annual dinner with Santa and a silent auction from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. tonight at the school.

Your choice of an Italian or American cold-cut sub, served with chips and a beverage, costs $4.

Children can shop for family and friends in Santa's Workshop. Free gift wrapping will be available. Photos with Santa, Dine and Fun coupon books, "Home Cooking is a Family Affair" cookbooks and baked goods will be sold.

The High Point Elementary PTA will hold Breakfast with Santa from 8 a.m. to noon tomorrow in the school cafeteria.

Tickets are $1 and will be sold at the door.

Photos with Santa will be available for a fee from Delmar Studios. The Little Elves Workshop also will be open for young shoppers.

County Councilman Carl G. "Dutch" Holland invites the community to his third annual Holiday Celebration from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Michael's Eighth Avenue in Glen Burnie.

Tickets for the political fund-raiser are $40 per person. Music will be provided by the Crabtowne Big Band.

Donations of new toys for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots campaign will be accepted.

The Ladies Guild of Magothy-Chelsea Community Lutheran Church is accepting orders for Joe Corbi's pizza kits.

"The kits contain enough ingredients to make three 12-inch pizzas and are available with regular or whole wheat dough, cheese, pepperoni or sausage," guild spokesman Annie Webb said. "They're an economical treat for the family."

The Parish Council and Benefits Committee of Our Lady of the Chesapeake will sponsor its first art auction, starting at 8 p.m. Feb. 11, at the church, 8325 Ventnor Road. Tickets are $5.

Church spokesman Gloria Romey said the auction, to be conducted by Heisman Fine Arts Gallery, will feature quality art at substantial savings.

Patrons for the auction program are needed. Those donating $25 will be listed in the program and as a thank you, be given six complimentary tickets. Full-, half- and quarter-page or business card-size ads are also available.

The deadline for patron listings and business advertisements is Jan. 10.
