The county's weekly curbside recycling service will accept leaves and yard waste through December.
Leaves and yard waste must be placed in containers with tops open for speedy collection and in open-topped plastic or paper bags weighing less than 40 pounds.
Acceptable containers include 30-gallon, brown-paper leaf bags; plastic bags; and rigid-walled, open-topped metal or plastic trash containers.

* Harper's Choice: 5400 block of Elliotts Oak Road: A would-be intruder kicked in the bottom of a door, but police said no entry was made.
5400 block of Harpers Farm Road: Jewelry, cameras, a razor, food and cash were stolen from an apartment between Oct. 1 and Tuesday. Police said there was no sign of forced entry.
