Time piles like snowdrift out of control in kitchen

NEIGHBORS

December 02, 1993|By JONI GUHNE

I've lost control of time. Surely, it was just a couple of weeks ago that school started and only yesterday that trick-or-treaters were at the door. Months fly off the calendar like a blizzard in my kitchen, and minutes and hours pile up in the corners like early December snow.

But, where is the bitter cold of yesteryear? I hardly need a heavy coat, much less thick muffler and boots.

The Severna Park Assistance Network (SPAN) needs help with its Holiday Sharing program.

This year, more than ever, county families are in need of money, food and new toys. You can give a single gift or sponsor an entire family. There was a shortage of donated turkeys at Thanksgiving, so you might consider supplying a bird or two for Christmas.

The deadline for Christmas donations is Dec. 16.

All donations will be packed and distributed on Dec. 23 in space provided by Park Plaza.

Located behind Our Shepherd Lutheran Church on Benfield Road, SPAN is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Thursday.

Call 647-0889.
