Union Bridge strives to pay off debt

The efforts of Union Bridge's government and residents have made a dent in the $200,000 debt for the construction of their new office building.

Various fund-raisers have made it possible for the Town's Funding Committee to pay $8,000 toward the town's mortgage payment and $7,000 on the principal to reduce the loan balance.

The two most recent fund-raisers, a gun raffle and a breakfast, raised $1,665 and $1,031 respectively. The Second Annual Gala '90s Picnic, held in September, raised $2,528.80.
