Coppin wins, takes fifth in San Juan

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico -- Coppin State (2-1) secured fifth place in the San Juan Shootout with an 80-62 blowout of American University of Puerto Rico yesterday.

Sidney Goodman led the Eagles with 23 points and six rebounds. Stephen Stewart added 17 points on 6-for-12 shooting. Rafael Novas led American with 16.

Coppin dominated early and led at the half, 44-26.
