Wendy's robbed by gunman and masked accomplices

November 29, 1993

A gunman and two masked accomplices robbed a Linthicum fast-food restaurant early yesterday morning, police said.

At 9:52 a.m., an employee was cleaning the parking lot of the Wendy's restaurant in the 700 block of Nursery Road when a man walked up and asked for a job application. The clerk agreed to get the man an application and asked him to wait outside. When the clerk went to open the back door, the man ran up to him and put a gun to his back, police said.

He forced the clerk into the restaurant and then ordered the employees into the freezer. Two other men walked into the restaurant and ordered the manager to give them money, police said.

The gunman was described as a black man with a thin build, in his early 20s. He was clean shaven and wearing a multicolored hat, black leather jacket and dark pants. He was armed with a silver handgun.

One accomplice was wearing a Freddy Krueger mask and another a scarecrow mask, police said.
