Commissioners review transportation survey

November 28, 1993

The Carroll commissioners will hear the results of a county survey on public transportation at 4 p.m. tomorrow.

The survey was compiled by county officials who asked residents this fall whether they would use public transportation if it was available.

Timothy D. Hartman, administrator of the county's Office of Performance Auditing, said 1,065 people returned the surveys. He will brief the commissioners on the results.

He would not disclose the results of the survey last week.

The county distributed 20,000 copies of the one-page survey and two local papers printed it, he said.

Mr. Hartman said he had hoped for a bigger return from county residents. In August, Darlene DeMario, the county's commuter transportation coordinator, said she hoped 2,500 residents would complete the survey.
