A fact box in yesterday's editions of The Sun incorrectly listed the season limit for deer during firearms season. The basic limit ,, is one deer for the season. Hunters who buy bonus deer stamps may take more than one deer. The Sun regrets the error.

What: Maryland's firearms season for deer begins today.

Limit: The basic season limit is one deer per day. Hunters who buy bonus deer stamps may take more than one deer per day in all counties except Allegany, Carroll, Frederick, Garrett and Washington. In those counties, only one deer may be taken per day.

Antlered or antlerless: Today-Dec. 11 in all counties except Allegany, Frederick (Zone 1), Garrett and Washington (Zone 2).

Antlered, or with permit antlerless: Today-Dec. 4 in Allegany, Frederick (Zone 1), Garrett and Washington (Zone 2).

Antlered only: Dec. 6-11 in Allegany, Frederick (Zone 1), Garrett and Washington (Zone 2).
