Livestock judging team travels to Kentucky

Monica Feeser of Taneytown and Melissa Harrison of Day, members of the Maryland 4-H livestock judging team, traveled to Louisville, Ky., for the North American International Livestock Exposition, which began on Nov. 16.

The Maryland group placed seventh overall out of 38 teams.

Ms. Feeser received 20th place in the individual rankings.

The team had won a state fair competition at West Springfield, Mass., on Sept. 18.

It won again at the Eastern National Livestock Show in Timonium one week later and placed second at the Keystone International Livestock Exposition in Harrisburg, Pa., on Oct. 2.

Ms. Feeser, 17, tied for first place with teammate Randy Mullinix of Lisbon in the oral reasons competition at West Springfield.

She is a senior at Francis Scott Key High.

Ms. Harrison, 18, is a freshman at the University of Maryland College Park.

Jason Murray, 16, of Glenelg and Robert O. Dinsmore, 18, of Broad Run are also on the team.
