Youths break in and set fire to garage

Two youths broke into the garage at a Linthicum auto parts store and set it on fire Thursday afternoon, county police reported.

According to the police report, a man walked into the Nor Lin Auto Parts store in the 400 block of N. Camp Meade Road at 4:50 p.m. and told the clerk that the garage behind the store was on fire.

The clerk called the fire department and used a fire extinguisher to put it out, the police report said. He told police two boys were seen running from the garage to the light rail parking lot. They got on bicycles and rode away, the police report said.

Investigators said the boys used a flare from the garage to set the door on fire. After it caught fire, they threw the flare back into the garage.

The clerk described the boys as white and about 14 years old.
