Name change

* Baltimore County Literacy Works, named William D. Norton, a NationsBank senior vice president, chairman of its board of directors.

* Glass, Jacobson & Associates, Kamanitz, Uhlfelder & Permison and McLean, Koehler, Sparks & Hammond, three Baltimore-area accounting firms, each was presented a 1993 Digest 50 Award, designating it as one of the top 50 accounting firms in the nation.

* Darlene B. Hoeck, a word processor and software specialist, was named Temporary of the Year -- 1993 for Mary Kraft & Associates.

* Adam Sandler was given the gold award for its Saint Joseph Hospital ad by the Sunday Magazine Advertising Conference.

* The Collateral Group of Baltimore was awarded a Certificate of Merit for outstanding packaging design on behalf of its client, McCormick/Shilling, by the Art Directors Club of Washington.

* Roland Aldao, William Clark, Keith Schell and Phyllis Smith have been honored by United Parcel Service for 20 years' service.

* Holt Paper & Chemical Co. has recently received national and local honors for service within the industry.
